GANYMED BOARDING offers new views of the Old Masters in the Kunsthistorisches Museum. WENN ES SOWEIT IST invites sixteen contemporary writers to write about one of the masterpieces in the Picture Gallery of the Kunsthistorisches Museum. The directors are Jacqueline Kornmüller and Peter Wolf, and sixteen actors perform these sixteen texts, bringing painting and text to life. On seven Wednesday evenings, visitors to the Picture Gallery will enter a semi-theatrical world and decide for themselves how long they want to remain at this or that stage. On each of the seven evenings, all the texts will be performed simultaneously and repeatedly.

WENN ES SOWEIT IST appears from nowhere, without a warning, at an unexpected location. This performance plays with associations and images, time and space, recites famous texts and transfers them into a different setting. The other place becomes the stage, the text is brought to life.
