For visitors with mobility impairments

  • Entrance: on the left behind equestrian statue of Prince Eugene of Savoy via ramp, automatic door and elevator (access with Euro-key).
  • If possible please inform the ticket office c. 15 min. before arrival (KHM +43 1 525 24 -7010); a member of the museum staff will accompany you to the lift and into the museum
  • 5 steps to ticket office
  • Lift to ticket-office level (width of door 65 cm, cabin 120 x 140 cm), museum only accessible via stairs
  • Bathrooms suitable for visitors with mobility impairments located on the First Floor (level housing Collection of Historical Arms and Armour, and Collection of Historical Musical Instruments)
  • Wheelchairs available free of charge (please reserve a day in advance)
  • 5 public parking spaces reserved for disabled drivers on Heldenplatz

To reach the museum from the Westbahnhof
Take subway train U3 to the Volkstheater station.

To reach the museum from the Südbahnhof
Take street car D to the Burgring/Kunsthistorisches Museum stop.
